A recipe for glowing skin…

Y’all know I love Jane Iredale by now (especially since it’s gluten free and completely non-toxic)… So, I’m gonna share with you my favorite basic skin products and how I use them for summer. This is the order in which I build them… (Link to all the products right here)

1- Since it’s summer and I don’t need super duper heavy converage, but I mean, I still need good coverage y’all… I like to use the Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals. Best part, you don’t have to use a moisturizer under it if you don’t have time.

  • A serum with pigment that provides sheer to medium coverage.
  • Provides hydration, diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimizes the appearance pores, evens out skin tone and adheres so well, there is minimal transference.
  • Liquid Minerals has no rated SPF.
  • The beads or spheres visible in the airless pump are actually liposomes encapsulating liposomes.
  • State-of-the-art technology prevents active ingredients from degrading and allows actives to time release into the skin.

2- Concealer on blemishes as needed.

  • A highly pigmented concealer that contains beneficial botanicals and antioxidants that soothe and minimize the appearance of redness.
  • Gentle enough to be used as often as needed.
  • Staying power reduces the need for touch-ups.
  • Creamy formula layers easily for customizable coverage.
  • A hygienic patented metal tip stays cool even during product application.

JANE Summer2

3- For any shine I use the PurePressed Base. (This can also replace number one if you need less coverage. Just grab a flocked sponge and apply slightly dampened).

  • A pressed mineral foundation that is slightly more sheer and matte than the loose powders.
  • Made from micronized minerals, oil free and weightless.
  • An SPF foundation, powder and concealer with broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sun protection. Either SPF 20 or SPF 15 depending on shade.*
  • Water resistant to 40 minutes.
  • Contains antioxidants such as Pine Bark Extract and Pomegranate Extract (a potent antioxidant that helps fight free radical production caused by sun exposure).

JANE Summer3

4- MOONGLOW! I am currently out of this and I am going crazy over it! I use on the sides of my forehead, sides of my nose, below cheekbones, along jawline. This stuff if my absolute fave y’all! Gives you the best summery glow ever! (Think J.Lo guys, for pale girls-hahaha)

Mystikol Magic

Jane Iredale is kicking off 2017 with the unveiling of its new Mystikol® eyeliners. Available in four, richly pigmented and water-resistant shades, these perfectly saturated, creamy-liners make it super easy to create a liquid-like appearance, or they can be smudged like a powder or pencil to create a sultry winter eye look.

The product also contains a built-in, removable brush, which is very high-quality imo, which makes eyeliner application #momlife or even #girlboss approved. These would also be great for any random kind of face art, or you could even use them as an eyeshadow if you smudge them all over. The best part is that a little bit goes a long way, and one of these puppies will last you a very long time!

Jane Iredale Summer Collection and Jane Iredale BB Cream

Okay, so I am in love! I’m not really a foundation girl, but I absolutely love Jane Iredale’s Glow Time BB Cream. I would consider it more of a foundation as is, compared to most bb creams. Most bb creams I have tried (Garnier, Proactiv) are runny like a moisturizer- with a hint of color. This is thicker like a medium coverage foundation (but it also moisturizes and provides sun protection). This is like a miracle product though, because as soon as I tried it I panicked. I put it on my face and was so disappointed that it didn’t match. It was far too yellow, even for my yellow-toned skin. I continued to rub it in anyway, and it magically changed to the perfect shade! It was like magic, no lie! I was amazed! I even made my mom try it and the same thing happened for her. I can’t explain it, but it actually says it will match your skin in the description, and that is no lie. I add a little moisturizer to it if I want lighter coverage, and use as is for a heavier coverage, it’s great! It does leave you with a dewy natural finish as well, which I love! So there’s my glowing review of the Jane Iredale Glow Time BB Cream! Literally use it as a concealer if you want as well…(also a little goes a long way, this tube will last forever) love love love!

On to the summer collection (blushes/bronzer, brow powder, lip balm). These colors are amazing! I especially love the bronzers! The blush/bronzers are so shimmery for more of a “Nars Orgasm” shade use “rose dawn” blush bronzer. I love to use this one as a blush alone- it has the perfect pale pink touch with a shimmer that gives you an amazing sheen! Use “sunbeam” if you have darker skin and want a similar blush, or if you want a bronzer with a touch of pink to it. “Sunbeam” is a great blush/bronzer hybrid if you just buy one only. Then I love “moonglow” as my straight up bronzer/contour. They are all shimmery and gorgeous! Also, they are sectioned into ombre shades so they would be perfect to use as eyeshadows as well (genius)!!!!

Next is the lip balm- perfect touch of color with spf protection, throw it in your bag for the summer-easy peasy! I used the brunette eyebrow powder and it is great, but the best part is the applicator. It trumps any other I have ever used- worth buying just for the brush alone! Best brow brush bar none, enough said there…just buy it!

As usual all Jane Iredale products are non-toxic and safe to use! I am going to giveaway a special Summer Collection product to one lucky follower! Please post a link to this review on Facebook or Twitter to enter, be sure to use #AudrasPicks ! Follow Audra’s Picks for more (instagram, facebook and twitter links on my homepage) giveaway ends July 22!

Jane Iredale Spring Collection

I am loving the natural pink shades Jane Iredale has come up with for Spring 2016. These shades give you a little pinkish pastel palette to work with that compliments everyone’s skintone. It is a very undone and natural overall look, which I love. I am not a huge fan of the “instagram makeup” look in real life. It’s just way too much for us normal people! So these beautifully natural shades are perfect for everyone.

I tried the pure pressed blush in flawless, which is a deeper color that is very subtle. I don’t like super noticeable blushes, so I loved this! You could even contour with this, and it leaves a nice airy and light feel on your face. I think this shade would look great on anyone.

The white tea lipgloss is my spirit animal! I absolutely love this shade! I am pregnant and suffering from my usual weird pregnancy symptom of super dry lips, so gloss is perfection for me right now. This shade is absolutely perfect too! It’s dark enough to show up, but light enough to give you a natural look at the same time.

The naturally matte eyeshadow kit did not disappoint me either. My favorite thing about all Jane Iredale eyeshadows is how smoothly they glide on. Some other brands will be dry and go on roughly as they wrinkle your eyelids, which I loathe. Jane Iredale gets it right with not only a smooth shadow, but they also have the softest eyeshadow applicators that are worth investing in (but luckily they are included). The shades are rosey pinks and mauves, with a bone colored base and a smoky color for drama if you like (I smoked up my look above). It is a very versatile palette!

The eyebrow kit in brunette was actually perfect for me even though I am blonde. It gives me a little bit more drama, and again the applicator is far superior to other brands and in my opinion makes the whole product!

Jane Iredale- BeautyPrep skincare line

I was so excited to learn that Jane Iredale was starting a skincare line this Spring! I have tried all three of their BeautyPrep products and I have been happy with the results, and the safety of the products themselves. Like their makeup, they are free of harmful toxins, chemicals, (even gluten) and are cruelty free. Especially when you are pregnant, this is music to your ears. I like to say, “if you can’t use it when you’re pregnant, you probably shouldn’t use it ever.” -Am I right though? There are so many foods and products they ask us to avoid when pregnant, that we probably shouldn’t use ever! What I like about the entire Jane Iredale brand is that you never have to worry about any of that. Plus Jane Iredale  consists of VERY high quality makeup and skincare ingredients.

I will say that the beautyprep facial cleanser (step 1) takes a little getting used to. It is designed not to be washed off, so it is the consistency of water. So make sure you have a cottonball handy for use, because it comes out fast. The toner (refines pores) and moisturizer (helps makeup last longer and keeps skin smooth) that follow are used like most (steps 2 and 3). The moisturizer is my favorite! It leaves you with a fresh and clean smell that feels AMAZING  (what you smell is the organic lemongrass extract). I would definitely recommend this line, you just feel like you are being kind to your skin when you use it. It almost feels like you went to a fancy spa after every use. I would love to know your thoughts when you try it out, so comment below.

Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals & Smoky Eye Kit

Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals
I love Jane Iredale, it is what they sell and recommend at my dermatologist’s office for a reason. It may not be a cheap drug store buy, but you get what you pay for on this one. Also, you can buy on Overstock and/or Amazon sometimes for cheaper pricing. I have been using the Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base &/or the Loose Minerals for a few years now, and I absolute LOVE them! So I was really excited to try out the liquid minerals. When you first look at it it looks like it would never really provide enough coverage in all that clear liquid with random beads but it DOES. Plus, there is a built in serum in that helps with aging! This mineral cosmetics foundation is great for skin prone to rosacea, acne or sensitivity. Its lightweight formula won’t clog your pores or irritate your skin. The sheer, liquid texture creates a smooth, dewy finish. Hyaluronic acid in this makeup binds water to the skin to prevent moisture loss. Vitamin C provides antioxidant protection against environmental damage. This formula also contains coenzyme Q10 to help diminish the signs of aging. The beads that are visible inside the airless pump are liposomes in a soothing formula of aloe vera gel and glycerin. This innovative technology prevents the active ingredients from breaking down thanks to its time-released delivery system. Jane Iredale Liquid Mineral is paraben-free, gluten-free, vegan and non-comedogenic. You should really try it out, it is heavy enough but not too heavy (not cakey). I do use a powder over it to matte some oily areas.

Holiday Gift Guide- Part 1…Jane Iredale Smoky Eye Kit

Hey everyone here is my first pick for my 2015 Holiday Gift Guide 2015! This is called the Jane Iredale In The Blink of a Smoky Eye- Smoky Eye Kit. It retails for $50 at Jane Iredale’s website. The colors included are called 1-Bone (which is one of the large colors and is very very soft and a tad creamy- it isn’t wet but just so so soft and has the best texture and the applicator is worth $20 itself it is amazingly soft as well and sturdy btw) 2-Pure Gold (pale enough to be a base color as well but has a hint of shimmer to it and is also a great shade to have a large amount of) 3- Dawn (shimmery rose brown but looks more brown on-a great crease color or all over smoky eye color) 4-Rose Gold (love this shimmery color as a crease color for a “day look”) 5- Iris (crease color or eyeline color to smoke out when you’re feeling edgy) 6- Forest (great as well for a crease or eyeliner to smoke out and is a more subtle edgy color) 7- Double Espresso (a perfect matte and cool brown for a crease, eyeliner or all over smoky eye) 8-Ebony (for high drama or wet it for a dramatic eyeliner as well)
The packaging is great and even magnetizes itself shut, and is sturdy like a book. They perfectly chose the colors to make larger and smaller based on use, which gives you the best bang for your buck. These are all crease resistant shades, which I know I appreciate with my crazy pregnancy hormones haha. This would make a beautiful gift and includes everything you need so no upsells or add-ons like a case or brush etc. I definitely recommend and included a picture of me with Bone as my base mixed with Pure Gold and my crease is Forest mixed with a tiny bit of Double Espresso. (Please excuse the bright orange shirt haha and the black brushes on the side not included or needed

Jane Iredale

A great chemical free makeup brand- Jane Iredale

If you are like me and are trying to steer clear or at least cut back on toxic chemicals found in just about every makeup brand out there (don’t think yours is? Then check it on EWG Skin Deep’s website or use their EWG Skin Deep app to find out) then Jane Iredale is a great choice. You can buy at your dermatologist’s office, Overstock.com for an occasional deal, or JaneIredale.com. I have been buying the loose mineral powder on Amazon and I recently won several products through a Twitter contest held by Jane Iredale. I won the City Nights Collection Jelly Jar gel eyeliner in green and purple which I love because they add a fun pop of color to your eyes without being “loud” or going overboard. If you want to add a bit of edge but are a little conservative, this would be great for you! I also won the Kir Royale Puregloss Lip Gloss and the Katerina Puremoist Lipstick, both are superb but the lipstick is my favorite lip color ever! It is a nice wine-berry color that is bold, but not too bright or too dark, and the shade will absolutely compliment all skin colors! It is my pick for this collection-hands down! I also got the 24-Karat gold dust, silver dust and bronze dust…these are glittery sparkles sent from heaven! I don’t know how they did it, but they managed to make glitter that is more of a shimmery highlighter than your typical “glitter” makeup. This is a costly item but if you are going to splurge and use sparingly for special occasions, then you can justify it in my opinion…because it is like a little miracle! You would probably just have to use it to believe me. The bronze is a great bronzer, the gold and silver are great facial highlighters! I buy/use the Jane Iredale Amazing Loose Mineral Powder as well and I get it on Overstock for about $25. I like it because it is light but covers and unlike a lot of powders it doesn’t accentuate wrinkles. I like to use my Yes To Carrots Fragrance Free moisturizer and then put this on before my face dries completely to also negate the powder-wrinkle problem a lot of people have. This kind of creates a tinted moisturizer look. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with Jane Iredale, and buy on Overstock if you think it is too pricey…your body will thank you down the road for spending a little more to keep your body safe from cancer causing chemicals found in most cosmetics!!!
