Will using antiperspirants cause cancer? Many blogs, emails and facebook posts have been circulating lately that suggest the aluminum in antiperspirants can be absorbed by your body and possibly cause cancer. I, myself bought a deodorant this week free of aluminum and parabens because of said rumor. According to the American Cancer Society (in short) there is little to no evidence to back up this claim. However, parabens have been (somewhat) linked to cancer and can be found in all kinds of shampoos, lotions, makeup, deodorants, you name it. So, in short it wasn’t exactly necessary to find an aluminum free antiperspirant/deodorant, but a paraben free one, to try to keep yourself as healthy as possible (though ACS says even this is not exactly linked to cancer either.) I always said I would never be one of those granola people who bought organic and all-natural crap, but I am slowly transitioning. Does this mean I am there yet? No, but little by little I would like to at least use as many paraben free cosmetics as possible to protect myself (better safe than sorry I always say). Here are a few I have found that I like…Jason brand deodorant and the Suave Natural Infusion line. These are price-friendly products to start with.
